"Blowin 'in the Wind" is a song by Bob Dylan wrote and released her 1963 album The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. Although it has been described as a protest song, asks a series of questions about peace, war and freedom. The refrain "The answer, my friend, is blowin 'in the Wind" has been described as "impenetrable ambiguous: either the answer is so obvious it is right in the face, or the answer is as intangible as the wind." Dylan originally wrote and performed a version for two verses ofSong, whose first public performance, at Gerde's Folk City April 16, 1962 was recorded and circulates among Dylan collectors. Shortly after this performance, he added half a verse of the song.
