I can not get all the points, but here are circumcised are answers to some that have been madeover and over again, along with a summary published poet of some experiences:

Write about something that matters - not only for you personally, but to all humanity. Do not write the sea, the moon, dropped, or lost love, unless you have something startlingly new and important to say about them. The same applies to current issues. Do not tell us that war is ugly or that the environment is in danger, unless you really have a new vision or a breathtaking viewProposal.
Style
Most editors are reluctant to read a poem, the store with the line-end rhyme and alliteration. If you add a word, a poem, just because it rhymes, or turn a row in an unnatural, a rhyme is the power, poetry is heading for the dustbin.
modern poetry in general do not fit a rhyme or rhythm patterns in September Perhaps because there are only so many permutations and most of them were deeply impressed by the end of the extracts19. Century. If you are a specialist in Tanka, sonnets or whatever, probably better to be a new model for every poem you write design, matching the sounds and rhythms, the theme and mood of the piece.
Experience
Get a little '! Make yourself familiar with the poetry community, out now, as well as the classics. go read contemporary poetry and readings. Edit
Do it! Even if you ultimately decide that the first version that you listed the best, it is important to spend some experiments and polishing. Read the poem aloud to someone else read to you or a band and listen critically. Do not change anything that does not have an effective mix of sounds and rhythms. Put it away for aA few weeks before the presentation of an editor for you to read and review with new eyes. If you work less than part of it are enthusiastic. Try to cut, rather than admit when you change. Most first drafts are too long.
